Named after the Delaware Indian word for “mountains and valleys alternating”
Wyoming was the 44th state to enter the Union. Agriculture and mining are the

production includes wool (one of the first producing states in the Union), sheep
and lamb (ranks third in the Union), cattle, wheat, oats, sugar beets, corn,

printing and publishing goods, lumber and wood products, and machinery. With 24
